Who's the top cat now?
Jacques
This picture contains a hint about who might be heading for the coveted post of top cat in future. Jacques the kitten joined the family in October 2007 and has been trying to work his way up the hierarchy ever since ['yes, very trying' - George]
The new pets organise a coup d'etat!
caspar
Hello. The name's Caspar. Never mind that interloper shown above. He doesn't count. I'm speaking on behalf of my colleague George.
I like him a lot but he wasn't first in the queue when brains were being handed out, I can tell you.
(No need to mention the pond incident, George)
He lies on windowsills most of the day. george and the mouseHe can't see very well, and he climbs like a squirrel. And by the way, what is it with the squirrels around here? They're a bit too cocky for their own good, especially the one who was sitting on the fence making rude signs with his tail the other day.

Sally on the beach

In August 2008 Sally used up the last of her nine lives, which she had mostly frittered away jumping over sea walls and eating strange crunchy stuff she found on the beach.
(Nine lives? Wait a minute! Isn't that a cat thing?) She spent quite a bit of time earlier in her life pretending to be a cat, and then in later years she became a piece of furniture, at least as far as Jacques the kitten was concerned.

In October 2006 it was goodbye to the tiny tabby tiger, Poppy. She came into the family as a small kitten who used to live in a pub in Fountainbridge, eating takeaways. She never lost her taste for fish and chips!

Fizzy used up a lot of her 9 lives one way or another. She spent 11 days trapped in someone's attic, she used to run behind people's cars when they were reversing, and when we had Pasha (see below) Fizzy used to play a game where she put her head in Pasha's mouth.
In May 2006 she finally lost the last of her lives.
Felix, the cat formerly known as Tessie (!!!) Gone but not forgotten... My favourite pastime now is haunting the cat nextdoor, Sooty, who used to try and terrorise me. He isn't quite so brave now!
Sneaky 3 also now gone to the great Rotastak in the sky...

Sneaky 2
Keen-eyed readers will notice that there's only one hamster picture for 2 hamsters. This is because both Sneakys looked much the same. This is in fact Sneaky 2.
Pasha before rolling in the mud
Pasha after rolling in the mud:

Snowy the rabbit was very fierce and used to chase cats about. Obviously he had to go.
Dino was one of those cats who appear from nowhere and then later on move on and disappear again.

Charlie, the first and fiercest of the Perry family pets, used to terrorise the vet and various dogs and cats.

Jam-Jar wouldn't hurt a fly, but birds were another matter.
