'We got those time-tangling, nerve-jangling, Bermuda-triangling blues
We got a time-travelling cat, who really likes to confuse
We got a grandfather clock that's overflowing with clues
We got those time-tangling
nerve-jangling
star-spangling
new-fangling
missile-angling
Bermuda-triangling blues'

The Summer Show - 'Time Tangle'

Based in Corstorphine Youth Centre, the Drama Group is a children's group who usually perform a pantomime around Christmas time and a summer show in May or June.

After the triumph of the 1999 pantomime ('a riot of music and colour' according to one critic - the director's brother!) we produced a summer show to coincide with the biennial Corstorphine Fair early in June.

The theme of this summer's show was time travel, and the assorted characters included an Egyptian princess, a time-travelling cat, Robert the Bruce and the spider, an illusionist from a Victorian music-hall, four of the planets, and an octopus.

The show was performed to appreciative audiences twice in the youth centre and an extract was performed on the scary big open-air stage in St Margaret's Park, Corstorphine on the day of the Fair.

Music by James Perry including two original songs; the planet Mars, Indiana Jones and a British agent of the Second World War played by Alex Perry.

Script by Sheila Perry
